1. Where are you based?

Our workshop is in Central Queensland. Just north of where the Tropic of Capricorn crosses the east coast of Australia. Our address is at the bottom of every page and there is a bit more about us on the, uummhh, about us page.

2. Can you ship outside of Australia?

Sure can. We have sent trophies to, wait for it,

  • Canada
  • USA
  • Virgin Isles
  • Bermuda
  • UK
  • France
  • Moscow
  • Ireland
  • Oman
  • Hong Kong
  • Brunei
  • New Zealand
  • South Africa
  • Siberia – yes, they do sail small boats in Siberia!
  • and even some to Australia.
3. How long does it take to ship your trophies to other parts of the world?

1st class air freight will get parcels to most places in 3 weeks. Maybe longer to Outer Mongolia. Priority freight costs a bit more, not a lot, and, for example, has been delivering door to door from Australia into North America in 5 or 6 days. 4 days to Oman. A fabulous service that is trackable online.

4. Won’t the freight to the rest of the world cost an arm and a leg?

No. Expect air freight to add 10 to 15% to the cost of your trophies. Priority freight does attract a small extra charge. Many customers request priority even if there is no urgency due to the extra security given by the online tracking.

Sailing Stuff

1. I can’t find my sailing class on your web site.

We have made trophies for many different sailing classes most of which you can find on this site. But there are a lot more out there that we haven’t got around to yet. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make them. We just go hunting on the web for a suitable image that we can base a new design on. Or sometimes the customer can supply a photo.

Contact us and we’ll create for you a no obligation, absolutely free, computer generated design of your own unique trophy.

2. Can you make my trophies unique?

Sure can. No two pieces of timber are exactly the same so all our trophies are individuals. But we can also add in some unique elements to your trophies. A local landmark maybe. Or a map of the lake you sail on. Or something else. Browse through some of the images on the site for ideas. But if you have something else in mind give us a shout. All our trophies are hand made so we can customise them just for you.

Construction Details

1.How long a lead time do you need to make me some trophies?

How long is a piece of string? It depends. All our trophies are individually hand made to order. We don’t keep stock on the shelves. So your lead time depends on the number of trophies you are after and how busy we are. If you just wanted a couple of small trophies we can usually squeeze them in the next week. But 100 trophies would more likely be a few weeks. Best just to contact us at the time for an estimate. But keep in mind that we have never missed a deadline. Trophies that arrive the day after the presentation wouldn’t win us a lot of friends. If we can’t hit your deadline then we will say so up front. Next time maybe.

2. Where do you source your timber?

We use exclusively local Australian timbers. Much of it harvested from our own property.

3. What sort of wood stains do you use to get all those different colours in your trophies?

No stains. They are all natural timber colours. What, even the bright reds and yellows? Yes.

4. Do you use other materials besides timber?

No, well hardly ever. Although we did make some sabot trophies recently with the Aussie state of Queensland in the background cut out of a beautiful translucent smoky grey acrylic. And we used some stainless steel rod for a fancy perpetual trophy but that was for golf so probably doesn’t count.

Payment

1. What currency do you show on your web site?

All prices are shown in Aussie dollars.

2. How can I find out how much your trophies cost in my currency?

An online currency converter will convert prices to a number of major currencies. Check out the prices pages.

3. How do I pay you in Aussie dollars?

We accept payment by Visa, Mastercard, PayPal or bank transfer. PayPal now accepts payment in AU $.

If you pay by credit card we will charge you at this end in Aussie dollars and leave the banks to make the exchange at the current rates. The debit will appear on your statement in your currency.

Too easy.

4. Is your site secure for sending credit card details?

No. But phones are pretty good. And our internet phone is very cheap, so if you email us your phone number we can phone you at no cost to yourself.

5. I tried phoning you but couldn’t get through?

If you are phoning us from outside Australia you need to add your countries international dialing code in front of our number instead of the plus sign. We show our number like this, +617 4935 1162

If you are phoning from North America, for instance, you need to replace the “+” with “011”. So from Canada or the USA you would dial,
011 617 4935 1162

Other countries may have a different international code.
